The lighthose at Reykjanes

Reykjanesviti is 31 metres tall, located on the southwestern edge of the Reykjanes peninsula. It is Icelands oldest lighthouse. The original structure was built in 1878 but eight years later the building was destroyed by an earthquake. In 1929 the current Reykjanesviti lighthouse was illuminated. Geothermal area is behind the lighthouse.
